1. Open your texture (any kind) and picture you wish to edit. Mine is James
McAvoy, I got it from this site. After
you open them, leave them like that, don't minimize.

2. Decide whether you want the texture is the background or the contrary. To
make it as easy for you to learn, I want the picture to be the background. So,
go to your texture window, press CTRL+A (select all), and CTRL+C (copy).
3. Go to your picture window, and press CTRL+V (paste). You will see that the
texture covered the picture. The texture is positioned as Layer 1.

4. Set the texture (Layer 1) to "Hard Light".

5. Now pick the Eraser tool
. And
choose the eraser type. I choose soft round 100 pixels. You may choose different
size, but use the soft round! Erase the texture in light ways little by little.

6. Mine is like this.

7. Create a new layer. Just click at the icon second from right.

8. Go to color palette and choose this color #de2525.
9. Pick the brush tool
. And
choose the soft round 200 pixels. And brush it at the canvas anywhere you want
but try to make a composition when you brushing it.
9. Set the brush layer into "Lighten". You can move it into your own
composition. Not just that, you can also choose other color if you want, or use
more than 2 colors to make it looks grungy. Remember that you can always add
text to your project.
